The Ukrainian Association of South Africa, in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine and Unplugged Concerts, is organising a concerts with the renowned Ukrainian pianist Dr Taras Filenko in support of the return of Ukrainian abducted children. 

South Africans understand the power of culture in times of struggle. Music, poetry, and art have long been voices of resilience, dignity, and identity in this country’s own history.

In that same spirit, internationally acclaimed Ukrainian pianist and ethnomusicologist Dr. Taras Filenko brings to South Africa a deeply moving programme of Ukrainian classical music — a cultural testimony of a nation defending its freedom.

Through works by composers such as Mykola Lysenko and Myroslav Skoryk, these concerts reveal how Ukrainian culture has survived centuries of repression and continues to stand strong today.
