We are pleased to share important news for Ukrainians travelling to South Africa.

South Africa has introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system, significantly simplifying the process of obtaining a visitor’s visa.

Previously, Ukrainian citizens applying for a South African visa could face a lengthy process that involved waiting for weeks and, in some cases, travelling to a neighbouring country to submit their application.

With the new digital ETA system, eligible travellers can now complete the application online using a smartphone or computer, including uploading their passport details, completing the required information and providing a live photograph. The system uses biometric verification and automated security checks to process applications more efficiently.

Under the new system, approved applicants can receive their ETA within 24 hours, after which the authorisation can be stored digitally on their smartphone.

Applications are made through the official South African Department of Home Affairs ETA platform.
