13 – 18^th of Jan­u­ary in Cape Town Ukrain­ian Woman’s Hock­ey team has won a place in the Ice Hock­ey Women’s World Cham­pi­onship (Divi­sion II, Group B)! Mas­sive con­grat­u­la­tion to the team who real­ly showed incred­i­ble lev­el of play and deserved Ukrain­ian Anthem to be played 5 times at Cape Town Grand West Are­na.

While many would right­ful­ly assume that Ukraine has a strong Ice Hock­ey teams, you would be sur­prised that Ukrain­ian Women’s Hock­ey team was only estab­lished 4 years ago.

Ukrain­ian Asso­ci­a­tion of South Africa was very excit­ed to sup­port Ukrain­ian team espe­cial­ly dur­ing the first match against South Africa and we hap­py to hear that our sup­port was instru­men­tal in get­ting Ukrain­ian team the con­fi­dence to score their first puck and to win the tour­na­ment! Ukraini­ans attend­ed every sin­gle game and who­ev­er couldn’t come to the are­na watched online!
